JAGUAR NEGRO Art Center project

A laboratory for cultural and social projects in the middle of the ecological community of Pueblo Sacbe, Black Jaguar has been architecturally designed by artist Stanislav Cerny who considers it a habitable sculpture.

Our Residence is considered as an incubator of ideas, which receives proposals and projects that promote growth and cultural exchange both locally, nationally and internationally.

Our approach is to host social, cultural, ecological and artistic projects, which promote connections between nature and culture, in turn incorporating indigenous knowledge of coexistence with the environment.

Being part of Pueblo Sacbe is located in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, is the meeting point where artists, researchers, healers, biologists and people who love coexistence with nature, find a refuge outside the noisy city in constant growth. The Riviera Maya is a region located in the southeast of Mexico within the Yucatan Peninsula and bordering the Caribbean Sea.

Playa del Carmen, as a tourist destination, can now be found as an overrated paradise, due to local, ecological and social identity problems within one of the main commercial tourist destinations internationally.
